About My Reviews

This blog started as a way for me to keep track of my reading, mostly while I was chairing VOYA's Top Shelf Fiction for Middle Schoolers committee. Some of the older reviews are not real reviews but just notes to myself or my committee members. Once I realized I was getting a following I started to try to write more coherently. 

In the Book Reviews menu you'll see links for browsing the reviews. Alphabetical (by title); Date; Genres. YA Authors is a page of my must-read YA Authors.  You can also use the search box to search by title, author, genre or keyword. 

Most of the books I review come from the library, from VOYA or I purchase them on my own. Each review (the "newer" ones) state how I received the book. I will accept donations from authors or publishers, but only if you promise not to cry if I don't like your book. If I don't respond to your request, it means I am not interested right now. I do not respond to each email. I get tons of email a day and I have less and less time these days, so I tend to not accept anything I don't think I'll be able to finish. I prefer to read fantasy, but will accept most any genre as long as it's YA and fiction. 

I don't accept self-published books, but I'm happy to support an indie pub.
